Is it normal to spray and how much? - Fragrants

Is it normal to spray and how much?

YES! Spraying is totally normal and at Fragrant, we do it with joy.
In fact, around 40% of people wear perfume daily, and it’s especially common among younger generations.

But does that mean you have to? Not exactly – it's not law (yet). But like a Rolex or a tailored suit, it makes you look (and smell) a whole lot better. Personally, we believe that 30% of your charisma comes from your scent. We’ve even heard stories where someone went from a 5 to an 8 just by walking past with an irresistible fragrance.

Perfume can also boost your confidence and mood. When you know you smell amazing, you know others think so too. And nothing beats a compliment on your scent. Plus, perfume has a psychological effect on both you and the people around you. Wearing a playful or seductive fragrance can seriously increase the odds of that vibe taking over – even if it’s 5 a.m. and you’re just working on your MacBook.

Perfume also creates the perfect first and last impression. When meeting someone new, it’s natural to greet with a hug or handshake – and the same goes when saying goodbye. That’s where your scent plays a huge role. As the saying goes: first impressions matter, and most of us remember people by how they made us feel – and smell.

Okay, I’m sold – but how do I spray? Here are a few tips to get it right:

  • No rubbing. Let the perfume dry naturally so it can evolve from top to heart to base notes. Rubbing can reduce longevity.

  • Don’t spray into the air and walk through it. It’s a waste of perfume.

  • Spray on your pulse points, like behind your ears – these warm areas help diffuse the scent more naturally.

  • Spray on clothes to extend longevity (fabric holds scent better than skin). Just don’t spray too close, as it can leave stains.

  • Avoid weird zones like elbows, hips or behind the knees – unless your partner has a foot or leg fetish, it’s unlikely anyone’s sniffing there.

  • If you get irritation (often behind the ears), switch to spraying nearby skin or your clothes instead.

  • We don’t recommend spraying directly on the neck/chest, especially if you shave. Some ingredients may irritate thin skin, and the scent goes straight up your nose – which can make you go nose-blind faster and ruin the experience.

We have 3 spraying routines depending on the occasion:

3 sprays – for travel and quiet moments

Perfect for long train rides, flights, and other close quarters.

    Spray for intimate moments

1x spray behind each ear, 1x spray on the back of the head

We don’t recommend heavy or party fragrances in these environments, as they can overwhelm others in small spaces. Instead, grab one of our refillable atomizers and spray once you arrive at your destination.

5 sprays – for daily use
Work, shopping, dates, restaurants – this is your go-to.

    Spray for everyday use

    Build on the previous routine.

Add 1x spray on each shoulder

    OR

If you have long hair, 1x spray on each side at neck level.

If you want more projection, add 1x spray on each wrist. You can also swap the shoulder sprays for wrist sprays if you work in a place where physical interaction is more common.

7 sprays – for parties and nightlife
For clubs, big events, or places where you need to make an entrance.

Spray for parties and other occasions with good space

    Build on the previous routine

Add 1x spray on each wrist.

This is ideal in settings where a subtle scent won’t cut it – like nightclubs or large gatherings.

Try out these routines and adjust based on the strength of your perfume, the setting, and the vibe you're going for. But be careful – a party fragrance might be a bit much at the office.
